Having your project move through our prepress department efficiently means attending to all the details. The following list of specifications are very important to double-check before submitting your files to Cedar Graphics. Adhering to these guidelines will assist you in providing us accurate electronic files. If you have any questions concerning electronic file preparation, or the list of specifications below, please contact our Customer Service Department or your Sales Representative.

Applications:

• InDesign
• QuarkXpress
• Supported graphic and image software
• Illustrator (Format -EPS, AI)
• Photoshop (Format -EPS, TIFF, DCS 2.0)

Defining Colors:

• Define color names EXACTLY the same between graphics software and page layout program
• Convert all RGB to CMYK
• Spot colors must be PANTONE C of CVC

Images:

• Minimum resolution of 300 dpi at 100% of reproduction size
• LZW compression is not recommended

Fonts:

• Embed all fonts for the document and placed graphics when creating a PDF X-4 for submission
• Ensure all fonts used in the document allow embedding

File Setup:

• Set all bleeds to. 125” (1/8”) on all sides
• DO NOT trap your files.
• Rich black should not exceed 40c/30m/30y/ l00k
• Elements on the pasteboard outside of final trim should be deleted
• Page size of document should be defined as final trim size
• Books should be built in reader spreads using facing pages but saved out as pdfs in single pages
  
• Non book spreads should be built as a single page to the final trim size
