How to plan a 9X12 Pocket Folder

Custom printed presentation folders are a polished and practical way to organize business proposals, press kits, company or product literature, conference handouts and much more.

To lay out a pocket folder, use our layout template. Content on the pockets need to be oriented upside down due to how the folder will fold after it is cut. Also, bleeds should only be set on the outside edges of the piece and must be .125” (1/8”) in size, but the page size should be defined as the final trim size.

How to Submit All Other Die Files

For all other non-standard sizes, a new die must be purchased. Die files should be created in Illustrator using a spot color not 4-color, labeled die. The color chosen should be very visible (i.e. If the job has high coverage of red the die should be green; If the job has a high coverage of blue, the die color should magenta, etc.)

  • All cuts should have a solid line, .25” past document to compensate for bleed.

  • All folds/creases and perforations should be represented by dashes. Perforations should have smaller dashes than folds/creases.

  • All lines should be set to overprint, stroke set at .5 pt.

  • Glue tabs are .75” wide, stepped .0625 from top and bottom. Glue tabs should be attached to the base file, not the pocket.

  • Standard business card 3.5” x 2”. -Standard business card slits are .5”  on opposite corners and should clear any glue tabs
